Admissions: what we look for, and how to apply

We select students who are ready to put in the work — here's what the process looks like and what you'll need.

We admit students, not just enrolment numbers

Hancgrowth doesn't run open-door enrolments. Every applicant goes through a short admissions process designed to make sure the program is actually the right fit for where they are in their career. That protects you — it's frustrating and expensive to join a program pitched at the wrong level — and it protects the cohort, because the quality of peer learning depends on everyone being genuinely capable of contributing. You'll complete a brief written application, and for programs at the advanced level, a fifteen-minute call with a faculty member. The whole process typically takes less than a week.

The four steps to enrolment

A straightforward process designed to be completed in under seven days.

1. Submit a written application

A short form covering your professional background, your reasons for choosing the program, and what you're hoping to be able to do differently when you finish. No formal transcripts required at this stage — just honest answers.

2. Brief admissions call (advanced programs)

For Strategic Management and Data & Analytics, a fifteen-minute call with a faculty member to confirm the program level is right for your background. Conversational, not an interrogation. Most applicants find it genuinely useful.

3. Receive your offer

You'll receive a formal offer letter within five business days of your completed application. The offer specifies your cohort start date, the total program fee, and any applicable payment plan options.

4. Confirm and pay

Accept the offer and pay the enrolment deposit to secure your place. We accept credit card, bank transfer, and approved payment plans. Full payment is due before the first session unless a plan was agreed in your offer letter.

“The admissions call felt a bit unusual at first — I wasn't expecting to actually speak to someone before a course started. But it turned out the faculty member suggested I take the intermediate track instead of the advanced one I'd applied for, and he was completely right. I would have struggled otherwise.”

Admissions questions answered

Do I need a university degree to apply?

No. We assess readiness based on professional experience and the quality of your written application, not formal prior qualifications. Several of our highest-performing graduates entered without a degree but brought five or more years of relevant work experience.

How much do programs cost?

Fees vary by program length and format, ranging from $1,800 AUD for the six-week Professional Communication course to $5,400 AUD for the twenty-week Strategic Management program. All fees are listed in the program guides available on the Programs page. Payment plans are available on request.

Is there a refund policy if I need to withdraw?

Yes. If you withdraw before the second session, you receive a full refund minus the enrolment deposit. Between sessions two and four, a 50% refund applies. After session four, no refund is available but you may defer to the next available cohort once within twelve months.

When do intakes open?

Most programs run two intakes per year, in February and July, aligned to professional calendar cycles. The Digital Product Fundamentals program runs three intakes due to demand. Intake dates and cohort availability are updated on this page as they are confirmed.

Applications for the July intake are now open

Cohort spots are limited by design. If you're considering applying, don't wait for the deadline.
